The Reamstown Way

The Reamstown Way (Being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind) is the school wide positive behavioral support plan (SWPBSP) that affects every student at Reamstown Elementary School. The students have a chance to earn bi-monthly school wide rewards as well as daily and monthly individual rewards.

The premise of the Reamstown Way involves “catching” a student when they are displaying appropriate behaviors and celebrating their positive attitude by giving that student a Reamstown Way slip. The student who earns the slip would then go the office to vote on three school wide rewards. For example, the student could vote for three options such as extra recess, teacher playing at recess, or chalk and bubbles at recess. The school wide reward would then be whichever choice gets the most votes in a two-month span. The students enjoy having control in what fun activity or event they want to have hPhoto of a Reamstown Way behavior slipere at Reamstown.

The student who earns Reamstown Way slips would also have individual rewards daily and monthly. Each day, a student could be acknowledged over the morning announcements for earning a Reamstown Way slip. Additionally, each slip the student turns in will go towards their monthly total. The boy and girl in each class who has the most Reamstown Way slips each month earns a personal reward from Dr. Weaver for all the winners, such as a pizza party, hot chocolate and cookies, or a breakfast.

Celebrating our successes and having daily, monthly, and school wide rewards  help our students have a positive and enjoyable school experience!
